SPAM card game new cards: Effects and Strategy
No newly introduced collectible cards are confirmed by the supplied patch notes through 1.25, dated 17 October 2026. The notes add collection tools, skins, fragments, and starter access while reworking existing cards. A new ability, new passive, alternative art, or New collection label should not be mistaken for a confirmed new card release.

What patch 1.25 actually adds
Patch 1.25 lists eight additions and six fixes. Its additions include a talent glossary, tournament talent drafts, a New collection filter, elemental-skin progress tags, a wider collection layout, a reworked orb shop, Ranked information, and clearer HP bars. The list contains no explicit newly collectible card name or new-card release roster.
The New filter keeps cards, skins, and talents marked as newly acquired in the player's collection. That label describes the account's unread rewards, not the release date of the item. A card can therefore be new to a player without being a new addition to SPAM.
Fragments and elemental skins are collection changes
Patch 1.23 introduces fragments when an orb supplies a card whose three talents are already owned but whose elemental skin is missing. Four fragments unlock the elemental skin, and a Complete option allows earlier purchase under the stated fragment rules. Patch 1.24 extends fragment acquisition to qualifying duplicates bought in the Draw.
Patch 1.25 displays a green Complete n/4 progress tag for those partially completed skins. These mechanics give duplicates a new collection role without proving that a distinct card has been introduced. The material does not establish that the elemental skin changes battle stats, so no gameplay upgrade is assumed here.
Alternative art is distinct from a new card
Patch 1.22 names the first seven alternative arts: Nebular Aristocrat, Blue-Stone-Eater, Ephial, Keria, King of the Blazing Flames, Weaver of Words, and Vivy. The change is explicitly labelled Alternative Art. That is evidence for new artwork on named existing cards, not seven new collectible identities.
The distinction also matters when reading orb or Draw rewards. A new skin or a newly unlocked talent can produce a collection notification without increasing the base card roster. The supplied notes do not give a verified new-card count after the older v1.20 extraction.
Reworked cards are already named in the balance notes
Patch 1.23 gives Medusine Thorn a new Molt action and changes its talent choices. Ameru gains Common Graveyard, Pyrokinetic Sorceress gains Common Heart Resistance in place of Solid Veil, and King of the Blazing Flames gains Mimicry. Each is a change to an existing named card in a balance section.
Herald of Ashes and Lums receive combined attack-and-bonus packages, while other cards gain HP, damage, or income adjustments. Those updates can make an old card feel different in play, but they do not establish a card release date. Read the balance changes page for their mechanical significance.
Starter access does not establish a new release roster
Patch 1.23 adds a Starter Orb that lets new players choose one of the six elements and receive four cards of that type. This expands the opening collection path described in the notes. It does not identify those four rewards as newly released cards or confirm a specific new starter-only set.
The older beginner and talent guides refer to 127 released cards in the v1.20 period. That is a dated snapshot from material preceding the later patch sequence. It should not be advertised as a verified current card count without a newer roster in the supplied sources.
What would confirm an actual card addition
A confirmed release claim needs an explicit card introduction, an identifiable name, and a source date or version that ties it to that release. The supplied notes provide clear dates for patches 1.21 through 1.25 but no such new-card list. Release names, rarities, stats, and acquisition routes beyond those notes are therefore Pending confirmation.
Use the patch notes timeline to see what was added in each supplied version. For the existing roster, the card index is a different kind of reference from a release announcement. This page remains a source-bounded answer to the new-card question rather than filling an absent announcement with balance changes.
